Spring Grove Drill Hall
The Spring Grove Drill Hall is one of our favorite Nelson wedding venues, we love that you can dress this venue up to suit your chosen aesthetic, its rural location, and various options for both your Wedding Ceremony and Reception. The hire price is also very fair and reasonable giving you more money to spend on dressing the venue up to your desired look.
Wedding Ceremony Options:
This venue has various options for your wedding ceremony, you could tie the knot in front of the gorgeous old hall doors for a rustic look, maybe decorate the door with foliage, it would look so stunning! Alternatily there is a large grasses area at the front of the hall itself, we have seen couples have their wedding ceremonies in the middle of the lawn space with a backdrop of ether the hall of the large trees around the venue. There are many great options if you want to have your ceremony and reception in the same location.
Wedding Reception Options:
As for wedding reception options, The Spring Grove Drill Hall provides a blank canvas for your wedding but with subtle rustic charm. This venue has been really well cared for by the community and Council with its own large kitchen at the back of the building, bathroom facilities inside the hall, and a huge open space in the hall for seating and dancing. This venue would easily accommodate for 100 guests. The walls have been painted white and the flooring has been kept simple with unpolished concrete. Many of the weddings we have captured here have used a bus service to bring guests safely to and from, we would highly suggest this as an option. We have seen hanging foliage displays above head tables, beautiful wooden trestle tables, festoon lighting hung and various other stylings done well at this venue.
Location:
The Spring Grove Drill Hall is located approx 10 minutes from Richmond and 15 minutes from Nelson Airport in between the suburbs of Brightwater and Wakefield. The venue has a large grassed area at the front of the hall as well as ample parking space at the back of the hall.
