NEW ZEALAND wedding PHOTOGRAPHERS
Capturing MOMENTS WORTH CELEBRATING
WHEREVER LOVE TAKES US
Hello! We are Carrie and James. Nelson based Wedding Photographers. We joke, but our couples are often very similar to ourselves, and we love that! Our couples are fun-loving, are all about living in the moment and being themselves, and want to celebrate their wedding however they want and wherever they want.
Flowers wilt, and Memories fade
but your wedding photography
will last a lifetime!
Samuel and Samantha choose to celebrate their wedding in a destination very special to them both. After sharing many great holidays together over the years in beautiful Queenstown, New Zealand they couldn’t think of a better destination to celebrate their wedding than Queenstown’s Heritage Hotel. They invited their closest friends and family to join them in celebrating their destination wedding in Queenstown and wowed their guests with what has to be one of the most stunning wedding venues in Queenstown to get married at, a rooftop wedding ceremony on the roof of Queenstowns Heritage Hotel, overlooking Lake Wakatipu. You really cant beat the view! They choose to get married in autumn to make the most of the golden and bronze tones which really added to their wedding photos.
Sam and Tyler celebrated their gorgeous Nelson wedding at Appleby House surrounded by their favourite people! Their beautiful outdoor wedding ceremony was held in the grounds of Appleby House where the couple exchanged vows under the open sky, surrounded by rural countryside and rolling hills in the far distance, a close family member of Sam’s was their celebrant which made their ceremony even more personal and made for a truly heartfelt and intimate affair. After the ceremony, the newlyweds and their energetic bridal party headed to nearby Rabbit Island to have wedding photos captured. The idyllic location, with its picturesque views, served as a perfect backdrop for some fun photos with their bridal party. As golden hour approached Sam and Tyler's guests made their way to the modern barn at Appleby House, which had been transformed into a dreamy setting that perfectly blended modern aesthetics with a touch of rustic charm while the couple snuck away for a moment alone and were treated to a stunning sunset.
Josh and Nicky recently joined the “Just Married Club”, celebrating their love at their Nelson wedding with a beautiful outdoor wedding ceremony at Nelson’s Summer House. The venue itself is situated in the hills above Nelson, with unobstructed views looking out over Tasman Bay. The couple tied the knot under a beautifully decorated wooden arch, which framed the expansive, 360-degree views of Tasman Bay and the beautiful rural countryside just perfectly!
Char and Cam’s relationship started off on the open road where they bonded over a mutual love of cycling, adventure, and the great outdoors. With a love for adventure, their family and friends of course had many stories to share throughout their Nelson wedding day of the couple’s countless adventures together, from mountain biking their way up the side of a mountain with their sassy bearded collie cross Billie along for the ride to their many hiking and camping excursions. The couple even spent days leading up to their Nelson wedding at Lake Rotoiti Lodge biking and hiking around Lake Rotoiti and the St Arnaud area.
Sam and Fiona (aka Fee) tied the knot underneath a beautiful wooden arch decorated in sprawling blooms at their Christchurch wedding ceremony held on the grounds of Okoka Park in rural Canterbury surrounded by all their favorite people! Their ceremony location was framed by large hedges creating a grassed courtyard-like space that felt intimate and classy. This venue is truly special to Sam and Fee and was an absolute no-brainer when they planned their Christchurch wedding as this is also Sam’s family home.

“James and Carrie are quite simply, amazing. From the first zoom meeting, right up to our wedding day their communication and knowledge was incredible. They suggested so many beautiful photo location spots that matched our vibe and was so supportive with our planning. They both fit in so well with our bridal party, made us feel calm and comfortable and it felt like a couple of mates were taking our photos! Our wedding photos are stunning - we have had so many comments from family and friends about how gorgeous they are too. We couldn't recommend this team highly enough. Thank you James and Carrie for making our day so perfect and for capturing all our love and laughter - we are so grateful!”

We reached out to Carrie and James to see if they would be able to travel to Christchurch to capture our wedding day and we were thrilled when they said yes!! Carrie and James are a fun couple living in Nelson (available to travel) who work so well as a team both doing video/photography. We felt relaxed after our first meeting with them so knew we would be comfortable in front of their cameras. We are still watching our highlight film over and over (and over) every single day and finding it difficult to decide on which photos to print as they’re all so amazing. We also asked Carrie and James for our full ceremony to be videoed’d as well as our speeches which was not a problem for them- in fact, nothing was ever a problem for them. We just left the day in their hands and trusted them with photo locations and sunset times etc and they did not disappoint! We are so happy to have these perfect moments captured by Think Visual!

“My wife and I cannot express our deep gratitude enough to Carrie and James from Think Visual, for the photography and lasting memories provided at our wedding in Nelson. Think Visual provided a fantastic and personalized service, they captured all the special moments, and organised family and personal shoots on the day in an efficient manner. No request was too big or too small. Even our guests were impressed by their setup, skills, and presentation that my groomsman (also a photographer) hired them for his wedding in Wellington. The turnaround time on our photos was second to none, and the Web system was simple to use and great to share with friends and family. I would have no hesitation in recommending this business, and the great duo, to other couples looking for wedding photographers.”

“Wow, where do we begin! We’d recommend Carrie and James to anyone wanting a fun, talented wedding photographer and couple of great New Zealanders to capture their special day. They were the perfect add-on to our bridal party and got amongst the mayhem as soon as they arrived. They were so fun and it felt like we had known them for years! Throughout the day, they had the perfect balance of letting us do our own thing and giving us some much-needed direction. We also had a couple of silly ideas and they just went with it without any questioning. The day goes by in the biggest blur so it’s so precious to have these wedding photos to look back on and we don’t think they could have captured the day better. Thanks again dream team, we’re forever grateful xx”

“We booked Think Visual a year before our Nelson wedding at Spring Grove Hall. I was determined to have them as I loved that they were all about telling your story through their images and from what I had seen on their website and social media accounts they were exactly the photographers I was looking for to capture our special day. Carrie and James are gorgeous down-to-earth couples who really care about their clients, they go above and beyond to ensure you are happy and relaxed throughout the process. We loved that they communicated with us regularly and met with us in person to get a sense of who we were as a couple. We built a relationship with them through this communication so on the day we felt so comfortable. We have had so many compliments from friends and family and cannot recommend Think Visual enough they are true artists with the biggest hearts. Thank you so much!”

Jack and Tayla brought the party back home to Nelson, celebrating their marriage surrounded by their nearest and dearest at Forsters Moutere Hills. This beautiful venue provided a breathtaking backdrop for Jack and Tayla's wedding ceremony which was held under the trees in the courtyard of Forsters Moutere Hills and overlooked nearby vineyards and the sun kissed rolling hills which created an idyllic ambiance for their intimate ceremony which was shared with their nearest and dearest.
