The Summer House
The Summer House is a gorgeous wedding venue in Nelson, we love the stunning views overlooking the Tasman Bay from the hills above Atawhai, the various ceremony options and photo locations on site and the recent upgrade to the Reception area with the glass-paneled added to the walls of the Reception Hall looks so good and means your guests can enjoy the views as the dine!
Wedding Ceremony Options:
The Summer House offers probably the most spectacular views of Tasman Bay with 360-degree views looking out over the bay, and the rural hillside and you can even see the port and Nelson City in the distance. Your guests will be blown away by the views, if you have any guests from out of town they may want to move to Nelson after visiting the Summer House. The most popular ceremony location in on the grasses area looking out over the bay.
Wedding Reception Options:
As for wedding reception options, the Summer House has put a lot of time, money, and hard work into developing what simply is an amazing reception venue, they have created a permanent marquee/hall-like structure which recently has had all of its plastic wall panels removed with permanent glass paneling. Besides this amazing location, they also have the main building itself which offers a kitchen and bar space, as well as an external building close to the reception building for bathrooms which is user-friendly with a ramp. In fact, this venue is very assessable with a ramp down to the reception area also.
Location:
The Summer House is located approx 10 minutes from Central Nelson and 15 minutes from Nelson Airport. The venue itself is located up a partially sealed partially graveled road driveway which is easy enough to drive up. We have seen buses and a stretch limo make the trip up. The venue sits ontop of a hill looking out over Tasman Bay with amazing views of the bay as well as the rural countryside. You might even make a few goat friends!
